The organization publishes an application each semester, and only about 40 new members are chosen for fall and spring.

What’s the purpose of this entire society? To recognize and encourage fraternity men and women who have achieved a high standard of leadership, inspire others to follow in their footsteps, and unite outstanding members to create an organization that helps shape the sentiment of the institution on fraternity affairs. It brings together members of the faculty, alumni, and student members of the institution’s fraternities and sororities based on mutual interest, understanding, and helpfulness. It also creates an atmosphere where ideas and issues can be discussed openly across Greek lines and help work out solutions.

To join, applicants must have at least 56 credits and a 3.2 cumulative GPA or higher, be in good standing with their chapter, and be affiliated with a governing body (IFC, MGC, NPHC, or PHA). Those selected for membership will be publicly recognized at the Greek Dedication Ceremony, and initiation is mandatory for membership recognition. A one-time initiation fee of $150.00 to join the Order of Omega is due at the initiation.

As a member of Order of Omega, you’ll have access to a variety of benefits, including scholarships and fellowships, service projects, social events, and campus philanthropy opportunities. The organization also sponsors the Chapter President and Greek Leader of the Year Award and provides honor cords for graduation. Plus, you can participate in the Brick Walk project, where your name will be etched in brick on Fraternity Row.
